Testimonials from our Customers

Brenda and crew at Parabellum:). I got my new Scout shield at my home in CA. on Friday and all is swell. It went on without hassle, fitting the original fairing as it should:). I was happy to get all the hardware with it, as I thought I might have to go shopping for these bolts, etc. to complete the job, but NO. You at Parabellum are on top of this:). Speaking on top of things! These pics are me and my R100/7, owned since new(Feb.'78) on top of Pikes Peak, Colorado, a year and a half ago, coming home from the "Vermont BMW National Rally",'06. My daughter and her friend took the pics as I met them there at the mountain, as they traveled across country too. We were not traveling together, but managed to meet here:).

Well, here IS yours/my original Scout fairing, bought by me right after completing a cross country trip in 1988 to Escanaba, Michigan behind the BMW S fairing. The BMW S fairing nearly killed me with exhaustion every day on that trip that year. The original S by BMW was very attractive, but so useless as a fairing! I snatched up your Scout that year, as soon as I saw it advertised and it still exists on the same bike and after 250,000 miles behind this fairing, I would have NO OTHER fairing on it:). My R100 has over 300,000 now and I ride it nearly every day still. Just in this past week, had the bike fall from its m/c lift in my garage and the original 20+ year old shield broke from the fairing:(. I looked on in dismay and shock. The only damage occurred to the shield, broken in bits as it surely had become fragile from age. It still served me well, however and was still very clear with my care over the years. I am sooooo happy you still make this faring for others to find and add to their machines, as I surely can speak up in fine fashion to its ability to do a JOB. Well done!!!!!!

Hi Charly,
I wanted to let you know that in addition to reducing the noise and buffeting, your windscreen for my Super Tenere actually improved the mpg, which has jumped from 42 to 45. I was quite surprised, since it is considerably larger than either the stock or touring windscreen from Yamaha, both of which I have. I really didn't expect that bonus.
Thanks again,
John B.

I just installed my Parabellum windshield that I ordered during the winter. WOW, what a difference. Quiet and definitely helps in 45 degree weather. Would recommend to anyone for short and long distance touring. BMWs are great machines but I don't know what they were thinking about when they designed the stock windshield. The Parabellum windshield is worth the money.

I just received and installed (10 minutes) your Parabellum Windshield for my BMW. I rode it to work today and I can already tell the difference over the OEM windshield. It's great!

I ordered and installed your fairing a few weeks ago. It eliminated all the turbulence that resulted from the stock windshield. It looks and performs great. Now I can look forward to the long rides this bike is intended. I've never before told a company "thanks". Thanks.

I got my windshield on Friday, and installed it on Saturday morning. My hat is off to you guys, this is a truly an exceptional piece. The instructions including pics are terrific (and they are even in English!!) and the hardware is top notch. Thanks for giving the public a high quality option for a shield for this bike. The other stuff out there is garbage.

Thanks again.

The 22" screen is perfect for my 2010 Scrambler and for my 5' 10" height. It came on time and only took minutes to install. Riding is much more enjoyable now; quieter, safer, and less tiring.

Thanks.

Brenda,

The windshield arrived on October 13, 2010, and I had it on the R1200C within an hour. Installation was easy, everything fit and went together the first time. I took the R1200C out today, October 14, 2010, for a 155 mile ride to test your advertising assertion, my mileage went from 46MPG to 52MPG, impressive and the bike accelerates faster and easier and is much easier on me. It had 5555 miles on it when I purchased it on September 24, 2010, the two previous owners never did much with it. The windshield looks fabulous, and performs as advertised. I'm happy.

Hi Brenda,

I have had my Scout fairing on my SV 650 for a little over a year and am very happy with it. The level of wind and weather protection far exceeded my expectations, it is like the fairing is much larger than it really is. I was also surprised at the increased fuel mill age, I went from getting mid 40's to getting in the low 50's on the average tank about an 8 mpg gain. The Scout fairing has made my SV much more user friendly. The bike is now comfortable at 75-80 mph on the freeway and there is no buffeting or head shake. (I always use the 10in fairing as it is too hot here for the larger 18in one that I have). I have gotten caught in the rain on a number of occasions and as long as I keep moving over 50mph I tend to only get wet at my Helmet, shoulders, lower legs and knees, very unlike a naked bike. The weather protection is better than I expected from a small fairing and is very good over all.

The Scout fairing turned my SV 650 into a great little sport tourer it really did exceed my expectations in every way. I was willing to try it because of the 30 day return policy, I would have had a hard time purchasing a fairing in this price range without Parabellum's return policy. I was able to get it painted with the factory color for $125.00 by a local shop. It took me 10 months to get it painted because I did not want to go riding without it. Fit and finish are very good and installation was straight forward. I would recommend a Scout fairing to anyone who actually rides their motorcycle, I commute 25+ miles per day on mine and have taken it on 2 trips so far this year. I can not say how the Scout fairing works on other motorcycles but it works great on my SV 650. I am a fan of my Scout fairing, I will not be selling this bike anytime soon.

Hi Brenda,

I am sure you don't remember but I bought your shield April 20th. The warm up test was 600 miles in one day over three mountain passes and some rain. Was pleased enough to give it a go for the real test.

Background first: I am 5' 10" with a 30" inseam. Like to have my windshield adjusted so I just look over the top, not through, but can slouch down in a down pour and get more protection. I have been riding Gold Wings since 1978 and currently own a 2002 GL1800. Very comfortable machine with good enviorment protection for the rider.

Recently I bought a BMW K1200GT, 2004. This machine is lighter by about 235 lbs and has 130 horsepower compared to the Wings 115. IT is my luxury sports car and the Wing is my luxury sedan. The GT came with the stock windshield, which provided very little protection (like I am accustomed to on the Wing) and the shield was very distorted. I purchased your Super Tour Shield in clear that measured 25". The Super Tour Shield (STS) is 5 inches taller than the stock BMW shield. When I ride the Wing I like to ride with my open face helmet. When I ride the GT I like to ride with my full face helmet with the visor fully open. I like the fresh air. The stock BMW shield allowed bugs to reach my face, rain and all the other junk. Plus there was a fair amount of wind buffeting. After installing the STS all of these negatives do not exist any more.

MY test ride was from Seattle to Las Vegas, to Salt Lake City (direct route on I-15 is about 400 miles, took me about 750 on two lane :) ), then Salt Lake East and North to parts of Idaho, NE Oregon and SE Washington and home. 10 day trip with 6 riding days and 3,800 miles. I experienced extreme hail, sustained side winds of 53 mph gusting to 65 mph, sunrises, truck wind blasts, bugs and in one spot one inch per hour of rain. There were some dry days to that did allow for some high speed testing. Significant three digit testing. No matter the conditions, the STS preformed fabulously! You can not have it back! Prior to the trip I did test mpg. My best prior was 43mpg. My best on the trip was 48mpg. With the amount of riding I do that equals a savings of $1.65 per tank. So at 34,000 miles the shield has paid for itself in gas savings. It is already paid for itself in comfort and improved visibility. MPG is just a bonus.

The Wing still provides better arm protection from rain but it is grossly wider. I have all the comfort I am used to with the STS on my GT and that is what I was looking for. Thanks. By the way your installation instructions were excellent.

Enclosed are some pictures. If you want to use any send me a bottle of your shield cleaner and we will call it square.

ps I do not have bar-backs on my bike either.

Hi Charlie,

I received the medium height touring shield that you recommended for my 5'-8" height, within a week of ordering. The mounting process was straight ahead and went quick on my new to me '92 R100GS . The temps were in the low to mid-forties, typical for mid April in NH, but I had to take it for a 30 mile test ride. Highway riding is so much better now, with practically no wind pressure on the body and on very little on the top of my helmet. I look well over the top of the windshield and it fits the bike very well. The bike now seems to slice through the air.

Nice job and thanks very much.

Dave M.

Got your windshield for my 650GS yesterday, 30 minutes to install. I bought this bike used, with no chance to ride until the weather broke. I was pretty discouraged at first. Ordered another windshield, getting even more discouraged. Thank you, as your windshield has made this bike a joy to ride. Had it not been for this shield working so well, there would have been another 650gs for sale.

Thanks again

Got my new wind screen today. All mounted on bike and test drove. I'll have to say this is one of the best pieces of equipment that I've purchased for a bike in the last 25 years. Fit and finish was perfect. No buffeting its quiet Fuel milage up about 2 1/2 miles to the gallion so far. this should make my trip to Alaska much moore enjoyable.

Thanks for a great product.

I ordered the Scout Fairing for my Bonneville. The wait was a little long, but worth it. The fairing and windshield by far exceeded my expectations. The ride is smooth, no more fighting the wind at high speeds, and the fairing added to the good looks of the bike. Now, with the fairing, and steering damper on my bike, I can ride out in the desert at 90 mph in comfort. The fairing really added to the performance of my bike. My fuel comsumption is better too. Thanks for a well-made product.

I'm thrilled with the Scout fairing on my bike. The fit and finish are as if they came from BMW with the bike, actually, a bit better. It looks like the bike should have come with it, and the color match is perfect. At highway speed I can actually hear the subtle sounds of my engine, much better than those big thumps on the side of the helmet I had from the wind coming off the stock windshield. Just a pleasant whoosh now, I can even ride with the visor up if I want. Swapping out the tall windshield with the shorty turns in into a whole different bike for the city in about 3 minutes. This is a truly well engineered system and well worth the money. Thanks for a great product and service.

Sincerely,

Dean

I received the Parabellum windshield for my BMW R100/7 today, and I could not be more satisfied. I installed the windshield on my bike in about an hour, including the time it took me to unpack the box and read the instructions, and find my tools. The hardest part of the whole process was locating my pin wrench to unscrew the fork caps. Thank you for such a finely engineered and well built product. I will be recommending Parabellum windshields to all of my Beemer riding friends.

Sincerely,

As you know, I took Parabellum up on the 30 day return challenge regarding better gas mileage. I never really expected to return the windshield because I wasn't getting great gas mileage but I was certainly curious as to what the increase would be, if any.

Well I didn't get 87mpg but I did get 85mpg with and average of 78mpg on a 2,000 trip! I can say without hesitation that the Parabellum is the best windshield I have owned and I have had many windshields over the years.

I'm very impressed with the windshield and the very clean and sturdy mounting system. Now that BMW has lowered the seat height on the X Country I'm sure they will be selling a lot more of them which should equate to more sales of your windshield. I did a lot of research before I selected Parabellum and you by far have the best product.

Fantastic product!!

I got your 25" shield last week for my KGT & absolutely love it! I was getting tired of being buffeted by winds and suffering with constant noise with the original shield. Now I can enjoy it and even wear a half helmet if I like. I went on a 150 mile ride Saturday with a buddy who has a K1200LT. We switched bikes half way and he wouldn't give me mine back. We totally appreciate what your shield has done for this bike. I am 5'11" and he is 6'1" and we each could adjust the shield to a perfect height for our comfort range.

GREAT JOB! THANKS for making the most out of my bike.

To All; I received and mounted my windshield on Saturday. Started riding with it on Sunday. In the ensuing 4 days I have ridden just over 600 miles in varying conditions that have included extreme winds, fog, heavy rain, and about 15 minutes of sun. This has been on tight twisty mountain roads, and 400 miles of 75 to 85 mph interstates. I am stunned. Superbly quieter, buffeting gone, minimal sail affect(and believe me when I say that one got tested), and improved gas mileage. I simply couldn't be more pleased.

Got the new Super Tour Shield from you yesterday. Took only 30 minutes to remove the stock shield and install the new one. What a difference!! I'm 6-6 and I'm comfortable riding with it at the lowest position. The wind noise and buffeting are gone. Thanks for a great product that came complete with all the hardware and easy instructions. Installation would have been quicker if I had someone to hold the shield in place to get the first bolt started.

Thanks again for a great product and friendly customer service.

Dear Charlie,
Just a short note of thanks for shipping the windscreen replacement for my 1987 K-100 RT. I replaced the windscreen with the aid of only two tools and was finished within thirty minutes. The difference was noted right away, noise and buffeting was drastically reduced at all speeds and traffic conditions. What a pleasure to have something work as advertised. Keep up the great work.

Thanks again,

Parabellum Crew,
You guys got it right for over 200K- deer - bugs - rain - snow - road objects (boards, rocks, lumber) - Turkey - and finally a 60 mph lawn chair.

So I got another just like the first.

Mile of Thanks,
Kevin

Dear Friends,

The screen for the F650 Dakar works really well; I got to ride it home last night, and into work this am. Allow me to whine and say that this winter is wearing my ass out, and this am with snowy, icy roads, and 30-40 mph winds was another morning of "why am I doing this?" The bike will stay in the shop tonight, and the CRV will carry me home!

Anyway, mounting was a 30 minute affair, really tight, especially around the brake switch and throttle cable. Placement so as not to rub anything takes some care.

The extra tall I can look over, on a open road, but will be too tall for back roads or in the rain. Nice and quiet.

I am wondering how it will handle windy conditions in open conditions (this morning was on a urban street to avoid the worst of the ice). I'm not sure a breezy day in Kansas will be all that much fun, but then again, this bike never has been all that much fun in wind!

When the shorter shield arrives I will bolt it on, and hope for a clear road to try it out.

Over all, well done! This was the real missing piece on this bike for me.

Cheers!
Ron

Hi,

Just a note to let you know I received the windshield and it mounted easily and performs as advertised. I rode for years without a windshield but was impressed with yours and installed one on my R100 GS years ago and was amazed at the difference (no bugs, less water, and much less stress) but wasn't about to put a windshield on the DR650 until I found out you had one for it. After using it for commuting for more than a month I have nothing but good things to say about this windshield.

Thanks again,

After trying other shields, I really like my Parabellum Shield for my BMW F650CS.

Thanks for all of your help with some special requests. The wind buffeting is perfect, the mounting brackets are better than stock, and your customer service is superb.

And you are welcome to quote me on that too.

Received my screen today. Most easy to fit, and well fitting. Rode around with my visor up it's so effective.

I will replace the 5mm mounting locknuts with wing-nuts for easy removal as I take the bike green laning.

Many thanks for your quick and professional service.

I am attending the Horizons Unlimited yearly meeting here in the UK at the end of the month, and expect I will get lots of positive response when it's seen.

Just thought you'd like to know how your fairing works on the BMW Rl150R. I took the bike on a long ride yesterday and the gas mileage has jumped about 5 or 6 mpg with the fairing! I got 51mpg at a steady 70mph. Without fairing it gets 44 or 45. The fairing might pay for itself with today's fuel prices. Thanks for a great product.

Ordered another for my DR650 today.

Hi Charly,

Yesterday I rode 250 miles on my Rl150R with the Parabellum. I usually go on reserve at 170 miles (4 gallons), yesterday it went 200, so it's no fluke. The Parabellum fairing really ups the mileage. You are welcome to use my testimonials on your website.

Received K100RS Windshield System today. Like a kid at Christmas I tore it open and installed it immediately. We had 3" of snow on the ground last night but couldn't resist, threw on the winter gear and off I went. I had to take it easy till I got to the Interstate but it was clear so after a little getting comfortable with the new fairing I wound her up, what a difference! eBay is getting the Aeroflow as soon as I take a picture. The height and stability was great, with the Aeroflow when I came up behind a diesel I got really tossed around but with yours it was if I didn't have anything but the stock windshield on.

Thanks

P. S. the Parabellum is about 300% quieter too!

Bruce

After 73K miles of hard use the Parabellum windshield on my BMW Rl150R Roadster still looks and functions flawlessly. The mounting system is very strong - never has come loose or needed tightening.

Now, having just bought a 2004 BMW Rl150R "Rockster" I have mounted another Parabellum for the Rockster - very impressed with the quality of the mounting hardware and the ease of mounting. The size and shape of this windscreen complements the Rockster and provides the perfect balance of function and style! I highly recommend the Parabellum windscreen for the Rockster - a great product with a very secure mounting system. Easy to install and works well!

I rec'd your windshield for my 1150rt, needless to say it was perfect. I've been struggling along with Cee Bailey's model 2 euro which by the way has design problems (in the lowest position the curve of their shield comes in contact with the edge of my fairing). I just got tired of dealing with them.

Your shield went on in moments, fit perfectly and was optically much clearer than either of the two Cee Bailey shields they shipped me. Which by the way are going back to Cee Bailey just as soon as they send UPS to pick them up.

Keep up the good work!!

Jim

After installing your K75RT "system", I wanted to inform your designers that my mileage increased from a low of 35 mpg at interstate speed (80/85mph) with the stock Beemer 20& TO an average of 43mpg. Furthermore, on back roads at the BMW MOA rally in Wisconsin the mileage increase was even more pronounced: 52 mpg. With the stock BMW shield the max achieved was 43mpg. I bought the system for noise reduction and wound up with great mileage on a fully loaded bike with camping gear.

Thanks
Jim

Many thanks for your prompt service. I received the cafe windshield for my BMW Rockster, the build quality and finish are superb. Fitted the shield in about 20 minutes or so, then went for a ride, what a difference. The weather and wind-blast protection is good, enabling me to sustain higher cruising speeds in reasonable comfort.

Once again many thanks.

David

Charly-

I received the K1200LT windscreen on Monday, and have put over 500 miles on the bike since then. Its optically clear, that in itself is a huge improvement. At the lowest setting the airstream just touches the top of my helmet (I'm 5'11"). By raising the windscreen just a little the airstream goes over, which cuts out the wind noise. Raising it all the way doesn't seem to change the airflow. I get a little more to the sides compared to the stock shield, but am perfectly comfortable.

Temperatures yesterday ranged from 21 to 50 F, I had to ride from Gaithersburg, MD (near DC) to Newark, NJ for a meeting- so I rode 1-95 up. Back was a leisurely drive through Pennsylvania back roads. The clarity made this drive much better-1 didn't realize how bad the stock screen was. Anyhow, I think I gave the windscreen a fair workout, with speeds up to 90 MPH.

You can consider this an enthusiastic endorsement.

Thank you,
Russ

Hi,

Just thought I'd let you know how pleased I am with my new Parabellum screen on my BMW F650 - now that the weather in Scotland is more motorcycle friendly I have had a few trips to try out the screen. Admittedly the air has been fairly calm, but I am most impressed so far by the improvement in turbulence and noise -I previously had an Aeroflow screen (now broken, unfortunately) and thought it was pretty good but this is much better. Cruising at 80 mph is very comfortable.

I decided to keep the original BMW small screen in place too as it looks better with it on - and rather odd with it off!

Thanks,
John
Scotland

Hi, folks,

I received my sport shield today, and am pleased after my first ride. Noise and buffeting are much reduced compared to the Triumph windshield I was using, and that makes the ride more fun! I know you have been doing this a long time and may be less enthused by now, but I really appreciate your work and thank you for enhancing even further the joy of riding.

Charly,

To update you: the windshield is even better than I thought. I rode about 100 miles today, probably 80 of it on interstate at 70 mph. The ride was quieter and calmer than any I have had behind a windshield. I was able to hear more of the engine and tire sounds (part of the enjoyment for me), and I did not feel the usual muscle tension of resisting buffeting. In town with busy traffic (read turbulent air), my unzipped lightweight jacket trailed behind but did not flutter and flap as I am used to, even at 50 mph. And I was unzipped because it was warmer behind your shield, and that's good for me because I ride more in the spring-winter-fall than in our summer sauna.

I now see the perfect logic behind the policy of a fairly visible windshield company on the west coast to not accept returns if the windshield is mounted; I knew within five miles that I wouldn't be able to live with either of the two windshields I purchased from them! Your willingness to accept returns for up to 30 days testifies to your confidence that your shields work, just as the other company's policy testifies to....

So, again, keep up the good work. You have a good product and I appreciate it.

David

THE BEST $200 I EVER SPENT!

A few months ago after researching all available windshields, I chose the windshield offered by Parabellum deeming it the best one on the market. Boy what a difference it has made! I noticed right away the comfort in the ride making 90mph feel like only 40mph and adding slightly to the savings in gas (maybe more than I think). Before installing the windshield I was getting a top end of just over 100mph, now with the windshield I'm getting close to 110mph! WOW! Not only am I getting protection from the weather, I'm also getting protection from road hazards. Just shortly after installing the windshield a car ahead of me kicked up a nice sized piece of glass and hit the middle of the windshield. Gee I thought, if I did not have the windshield in place, I would have been hurt rather seriously. An added bonus about the Parabellum windshield, at night it is also turn signal indicator as the whole rim lights up (due to the wrap around the turn signals) telling the rider that they are still on (really cool).

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Parabellum has changed me and my bike for the better with a windshield that makes the bike look better and makes me safer!

Tracy

Just received my DR650 fairing. Rode my usual 70 mile loop and the mileage has jumped from 60mpg to 67mpg! I've never gotten mileage like that before.

The tall shield has very smooth airflow, very quiet. You make a fine product, the mounting gear is first rate. The fairing feels solid as a rock on the bike. You really should put a label onto the shield as other riders might want to know who makes such a fine fairing. Do you have any brand stickers? Also, the instructions might be a bit more detailed, although I had it mounted in 25 minutes.

Just my 2 cents ....Thanks for a fine product!

Brian

Just to say thanks for a very nice product. Nicely made, looks good and straight-forward to fit.

I fitted the screen yesterday and took the bike (DR650) out for a test ride. I pulled onto the bypass and when I glanced at the speedo I was very surprised to see that I was doing about 90mph as there was no noticeable wind pressure on my helmet or body; previously I had to hang on hard if I attempted this sort of speed and it was very tiring even for a sort while.

The screen works fine up to about l00mph which is on the limit of what the bike will safely do. Certainly a speed enough to lose one's licence!

Ok, guys, here it is: the in-depth review for the Parabellum windshield...

I received the windshield approximately one week after ordering it. The windshield was packed real well with bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts. The windshield is really good stuff; high quality, thick, and sturdy. It took approximately 40 minutes or so to attach the windshield to my bike (it attaches to the handlebars and upper triple clamps with accompanying hardware), and the installation could have been even quicker had I not been doing the work alone. I need to loosen the hardware and make a minor position adjustment to the windshield, but I was too excited and took off the minute that I got it firmly bolted on. It has been extremely windy here in Houston for the last few days. I got into the HOV lane and took the DR up to 85 mph to check for "sail" effect or any changes to handling. My fears were not confirmed, but instead, I was rewarded with a very comfortable ride with no noticeable changes in handling. I wear a dirt helmet, and as such, received a little wind buffet at about eyebrow level (I'm 6'1"). If I were to switch to a standard street helmet, which I would do for a long trip (long by DR standards - 100+ miles), this would probably cut all the wind buffeting out. I'm really happy with this windshield! I'll be checking for the next few months and will report back if any signs of cracking, etc. develop., but I highly recommend this as an aftermarket accessory for the DR. I can actually take the bike on the freeway and come home less tired from fighting the wind. While in the HOV lane, it was so quiet and relaxing that I stood up on my pegs to see what the difference was and could tell immediately the difference that it had made thanks to an immediate blast of turbulence. The windshield can be removed fairly easily as well, helping to retain your re-sale value, and to remove it for dirt riding without going through a big process. Good stuff
